If you watched our webinar on 10th June, you will have heard Thomas O'Brien talking about a number of projects where natural capital based development is attracting World Bank financing. One of these most celebrated, is the West African Coastal Areas Management Program (WACA). Find out more about WACA here: https://www.wacaprogram.org
The WACA program was developed in partnership with the West African people who live on the coast and depend on it for their livelihoods, nutrition, food security, and prosperity. The program supports countries’ effort to improve the management of their shared coastal resources and reduce the natural and man-made risks affecting coastal communities.Â
WACA boosts the transfer of knowledge, foster political dialogue among countries, and mobilize public and private finance to tackle coastal erosion, flooding, pollution and climate change adaptation.
